Two Kids and a Backpack

These terms set out what you can expect when you buy anything from Two Kids and a Backpack, whether that’s a digital product, a 1:1 call, or a coaching programme. They’re written to be straightforward and fair, so please take a moment to read them before you purchase.

By completing a purchase, you’re confirming that you’ve read and agreed to these terms.

 

1. Who We Are

Two Kids and a Backpack is run by Emma Portor. For any queries relating to a purchase, please get in touch at escaped@twokidsandabackpack.com.

We’re based as a travelling family and operate online. All purchases are made and fulfilled digitally.

 

2. Our Products and Services

We currently offer, or may offer in future, the following:

•        Digital products (including travel guides, toolkits, templates, and resource documents)

•        1:1 calls (including the Beyond the Backpack Call)

•        Coaching programmes and multi-session packages

•        Online courses

•        Membership or subscription communities

 

These terms apply to all of the above unless otherwise stated at the point of purchase.

 

3. Pricing and Payment

All prices are listed in British pounds (GBP) and include any applicable taxes unless stated otherwise.

Payment is taken in full at the point of purchase, unless you have entered into a payment plan arrangement (see Section 7).

We use third-party payment processors to handle transactions securely. We do not store your card details.

 

4. Digital Products

What you’re buying: When you purchase a digital product from us, you’re buying a personal, non-transferable licence to access and use that product for your own purposes. You may not share, resell, reproduce, or distribute the content without our written permission.

Delivery: Digital products are delivered electronically, either by immediate download or via a link sent to the email address you provide at checkout. Please make sure your email address is correct before completing your purchase.

Refunds: Due to the nature of digital products, we are unable to offer refunds once a product has been delivered or accessed. This does not affect your statutory rights under UK consumer law. If you believe there is a fault with a product (for example, a file that cannot be opened), please contact us at escaped@twokidsandabackpack.com and we will do our best to resolve the issue promptly.

5. 1:1 Calls and Single Sessions

Booking: Once payment has been made, you will receive a booking confirmation and instructions for scheduling your call. It is your responsibility to book your session within any timeframe specified at the point of purchase.

Preparation: You are welcome to send questions or topics in advance of your call. This helps us make the most of our time together.

Cancellations and rescheduling by you: We ask for a minimum of 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your call. You can do this by emailing escaped@twokidsandabackpack.com. If you cancel or reschedule with less than 48 hours’ notice, we reserve the right to treat the session as used and no refund or rescheduled session will be offered.

Cancellations by us: In the rare event that we need to cancel or reschedule your call, we will give you as much notice as possible and offer you an alternative date. If no suitable alternative can be found, a full refund will be issued.

No-shows: If you do not attend your call at the scheduled time and have not contacted us in advance, the session will be treated as used. No refund or replacement session will be offered.

Refunds: Outside of the above circumstances, 1:1 call fees are non-refundable once the session has taken place. If you have paid for a session but not yet had it, and you wish to cancel with more than 48 hours’ notice, a full refund will be issued.

 

6. Coaching Programmes and Multi-Session Packages

This section applies to any coaching programme, course, or package that involves multiple sessions or ongoing access over a set period.

Commitment: When you purchase a coaching programme or package, you are committing to the full programme. Sessions are non-transferable and cannot be carried over beyond the agreed programme end date unless we have agreed otherwise in writing.

Cancellations mid-programme: If you wish to cancel part-way through a programme, you will not be entitled to a refund for any sessions already delivered. Any remaining sessions or payments (see Section 7) will be handled as follows:

•        If you have paid in full upfront, no refund will be issued for unused sessions after the programme has begun.

•        If you are on a payment plan, you remain contractually obliged to complete all payments as agreed, regardless of whether you continue to participate in the programme.

 

Cancellations by us: If we are unable to fulfil a coaching programme for any reason, we will offer either a replacement programme of equivalent value or a pro-rata refund for sessions not yet delivered.

 

7. Payment Plans and Subscription Arrangements

Where we offer a coaching programme, membership, or subscription that is split into monthly payments, the following applies.

Your commitment: By entering into a payment plan or subscription arrangement, you are entering into a contract for the full agreed term. This means you are legally obliged to make all payments for the duration of the agreement, even if you choose not to continue participating.

Example: If you sign up for a 3-month coaching plan at £100 per month, you are committing to all three payments of £100. Deciding to stop participating after month one does not release you from your obligation to pay months two and three.

Payment terms: Payments will be taken automatically on the agreed dates. It is your responsibility to ensure your payment method remains valid. If a payment fails, we will contact you to resolve the issue. We reserve the right to suspend access to any programme or membership until outstanding payments are brought up to date.

Maximum plan length: Payment plans are available for programmes up to six months in duration. Any arrangement beyond this will be agreed in writing separately.

Early termination: If you wish to settle the remaining balance of a payment plan early, please contact us and we will provide the outstanding amount. Early settlement does not entitle you to a discount.

 

8. Recordings

Where a 1:1 call or coaching session is recorded, you will be informed of this beforehand. Recordings are provided for your personal use only and may not be shared, published, or distributed.

We retain the right to use anonymised or general learnings from sessions to improve our services, but we will never share identifiable information about you without your explicit consent.

 

9. Results and Disclaimer

We share our own experience and knowledge honestly, and we genuinely want every person who works with us to get value from the experience. However, we cannot guarantee specific outcomes or results.

The information we provide in calls, courses, and products is based on our own lived experience and is intended for general guidance only. It does not constitute legal, financial, or professional advice. You should seek independent advice where appropriate.

Your results will depend on your own circumstances, decisions, and effort, which are entirely outside our control.

 

10. Your Statutory Rights

Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer under UK law. If you are unsure about your rights, you can visit the Citizens Advice website at www.citizensadvice.org.uk for guidance.

 

11. Complaints and Disputes

If something hasn’t gone as expected, please contact us in the first instance at escaped@twokidsandabackpack.com.  We will always try to resolve any issues quickly and fairly.

We ask that you give us the opportunity to put things right before escalating a dispute through any other channel.

 

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version published on our website at the time of your purchase is the version that applies to that transaction.
